D.DEE is the founder of Pacific Rhythm, a record label and party series that has become synonymous with the laid-back and uplifting sound Canada’s West Coast has become recognized globally for. Over the past decade, D.DEE’s work with Pacific Rhythm has helped bring music from artists including SpaceGhost, Kennedy, Khotin, D. Tiffany, Active Surplus, Ex-Terrestrial, Unknown Mobile, Jesse Futerman, Beverly Glenn-Copeland, Frank & Tony, and many more to sound systems across the planet. In addition to operating Pacific Rhythm, D.DEE is a regular fixture in booths at Tresor, Standard Time, Bar Part Time, Public Records, Charlie, and many other dance music institutions. Earlier this year he made his production debut on a collaborative EP entitled “Canada House” with Patrick Holland under the alias Pacific Spirit as a tribute to his long-running radio show that shares the same name.

Dane grew up in Edmonton, Canada, where icy nights on the hockey rink led him to the dance floor at 15; by 32 he’d become a hometown hero behind the counter of the local record shop and resident DJ at The Common before moving to Berlin.
Summers in Vancouver and Victoria deepened his love for the West Coast, and with mentorship from disco legends Koosh & Eddie C he launched Common Edit—an edit label that quickly became Canada’s go-to for 7” and 12” dance-floor weapons.
Fueled by obsessive record digging and endless practice, his sets are joyous, sweat-soaked sermons of hair-flips, sing-alongs and soaring momentum that leave dancers elated.
Whether in a Berlin basement or a prairie loft, Dane carries one message: love, unity and the lust for music that lifts every floor he plays.
